  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Unveils Its Star-Studded Cast

Giancarlo Esposito, Maya Rudolph, Jackie Chan, and John Cena are some of the names on board for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Paramount Pictures

Seth Rogen is bringing the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back into the world with an animated movie titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and he’s gathered an amazing cast to voice the main characters of this wacky and colorful adventure.

Rogen presented the list of actors and actresses, including some big Hollywood names that will be part of the long-awaited project to bring the New York City streets heroes back to our screens. The 4 turtles will be portrayed by Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon, who will be voicing Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael, respectively.

They’ll be joined by some very familiar voices: Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog; Rose Byrne as Leatherhead; John Cena as Rocksteady; Jackie Chan as Splinter; Ice Cube as Superfly; Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut; Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil; Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman; Post Malone as Ray Fillet; Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko; and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

The announcement was made on Saturday at the Kid’s Choice Awards stage, where Rogen was joined by the main cast members to introduce the movie, which will come from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies, and Point Grey Productions.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

The film is set to hit theaters on August 4, 2023, and it will be made in a CG-animated format that will mix the classic look of the Turtles seen in the 80’s animated series that transformed them into a global hit with new techniques to bring the story to new audiences.

The classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles followed the charismatics Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, four anthropomorphic turtle brothers trained in jiu-jitsu who fight evil in the New York City streets and live in the sewers to hide away. Supporting characters include the turtles’ rat sensei Splinter, their human friends April O’Neil and Casey Jones, and enemies such as Baxter Stockman, Krang, and their archenemy, the Shredder.
